WWU's Fairhaven College and Associated Students run the campus Outback Farm as a part of applying Outdoor Experiential Learning and sustainability. This invaluable program contributes vastly to Western's Campus as well as involved students' experience working on a farm. Programs on Outback Farm include organic farming, habitat restoration, sustainable land use practices and more.
Unfortunately, this Summer Quarter, Outback Farm was subject to a robbery in which hundreds of dollars worth of tools were taken from one of its sheds. This program relies heavily on a volunteer, student-run basis and an act of theft like this has a heavy impact on them during their busiest season.
WeAreWWU feels that the Outback Farm contributes positively to Western and are proud to announce that we have decided to respond to this robbery by awarding them the 2017 Campus Community Reserve Award! This should help to replace what was stolen from them and let Outback Farm know how much they are appreciated and valued by our community.
Keeping you up to date on the progress of the WeAreWWU fundraising campaign!
