Here is a quick status update about how Western Washington University is growing! More and more students are applying to Western and why? Well, we are a great school! We are perfectly placed in-between mountains for skiing and the water for sailing. According to U.S. News and Education report Western Washington University has one of the highest acceptance rates in all the Washington leading at 84%. In 2013 the average acceptance rate was 83.7%. To say the least, Western is steeply growing. As of this year Western has been categorized as a medium sized campus with a total of 14,152 students. Other factors that make western a great school is the cost. Lets break it down. Tuition for an instate students is roughly $8,040; on campus room and board is about $9,656; books and supplies can be an estimates of $1,080 or less; and an additional $823. That comes out to be a total of $19,599. Now theses are all estimates and there are plenty of ways to save money on additional cost like books, and housing around campus that cost a little less. Because Bellingham is a college town about 70% of homes and apartments located near by are rental properties. Financial aid is also helpful, Western as an annual aid award of about $9,994,449. Grants and loans are also available to students who qualify. Money is just part of the overall experience. There is so much to be apart of in this community weather that be joining a club, becoming an active volunteer in the community, working on campus, building new relationships, or finding new interest and hobbies. The world of Western is an open door. So come on in, your world is waiting.
